DRONE TRAINING & LICENSING

Interested in acquiring an interesting and fascinating challenging profession as a drone photographer?

Read here about the aviation Law in Israel and the procedure for training drone pilots and contact us today for a comprehensive explanation and a quote for training and testing as a drone  pilot with a license.

If you have a drone and you want to acquire flying skills and learn in depth the secrets of aerial photography, you may start by learning independently and purchase here an instruction booklet in Hebrew unique of its kind in Israel at a launch price - 50 NIS

We are the only ones in the country who have founded and conducted a training program in an academic institution - the "Exposure" school of the Open University.

Dozens of students are amongst our graduates  and many of them have been trained as licensed UAV pilots and have entered the dynamic and plant aerial photography market.

Contact us today for customization of a pilot training and licensing program

In the booklet you will find comprehensive explanations for the operation and maintenance of DJI, UAV's accompanied by screenshots of the flight interface.

You will also learn about flight maneuvers and emergency procedures that are part of the practical test required to obtain a license.

Drones enter the Israeli market at a high rate. Many are unaware of the fact that the Pilot Act requires a pilot's license to photograph in urban areas and within the vicinity of people. Similar to the legal privileges of private / commercial pilot license holders, only pilot license holders are allowed to charge for photography.

We are licensed by CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) to conduct training and a practical test for applicants for a pilot's license as a UAV operator up to 4 kg. In addition, it is necessary to take a theoretical examination for pilots by CAA. Contact us for comprehensive information on the licensing procedure.

In areas where aerial coordination is required, it is mandatory to work upon control towers and aerial coordination to obtain a flight permit  and / or aerodrome closure. We are one of the few in the country with a long history of flying permits and active flights within the  international airports such as Ben Gurion Airport and  Ramon airport.

The aerial photography market using UAVs is evolving at a dizzying pace. The applications developed for the drones enable them to be harnessed for a variety of civilian as well as security and military missions. Today, drone photography is an integral part of almost every video production - commercials, promotional films, movies, nature films, news bulletins and more. The demand for skilled and licensed pilots is on a steady upward trend.

Aerial photography requires professionalism and high skill in flying, knowledge and experience setting up the camera to obtain stunning footage with a cinematic look. Many are unaware that flying UAVs in urban areas and in proximity to people without a pilot’s license and without a supervision of an airliner and

a commercial license from the Department of Transportation is a violation of the law. The provisions of the Aviation Law in Israel allow licensed pilots to operate UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) up to a distance of 500 meters and up to a maximum altitude of 300 feet (approximately 100 meters) and only in eye contact.

Although most existing drones on the market are able to pass these height and distance restrictions without difficulty, flying beyond the limits is also a violation of the law. Each location designated for photography should be carefully inspected for aerial maps marking areas that are prohibited or restricted from flying.

Proximity to airports or active landing pads, military bases, security restricted areas, areas where sporting aviation activities take place, skydiving, ultra-light Bakai, etc. There are many areas that do not require coordination for flying and on the other hand there are many areas where such coordination is mandatory.

The world's leading drone manufacturer DJI has created an interactive map that indicates forbidden / restricted areas for flying all over the world and of course in Israel as well. To view the map, click on the following link: DJI NO FLY ZONE

Essential procedure before flying a drone

The  file can be downloaded here:         It is highly recommended to print and paste on the flight surface.

Follow the instructions before starting all engines and launching the drone into the air.
